Golf Car Customization

Part of the fun of owning a golf car is customizing it to your personality and needs.

Things to Think About

·      Do you want to customize a new or used golf car?

·      Do you want a gas or electric car?

·      How many people do you want to be able to seat?

·      What color of seats do you want?

·      Do you want standard, premium or customized seats?

·      Do you want the car lifted?

·      What kind of tires do you want?

·      Do you want a custom paint job?

·      What color of top do you want?

·      Do you want an extended top?

·      Would you like a sound system on your car?

·      Do you need side or rear view mirrors?

·      Do you want a brush guard?

Gas or Electric

If you're in the market for a golf car, one of the first decisions you'll need to make is the power choice between gas or electric.  To do this your first order of business is to know where and how you will using the car.

How will you use the golf car?

Desired Range

An electric golf car’s range is 15-20 for a 48V lead acid car, and 30-40 for a lithium battery car.  With a 4-6 gallon tank, you’ll average 100-180 miles in a gas car.

On the Golf Course

Many golf courses and communities have specific guidelines for the golf cars they will allow.  Check to see which your preferred course allows – and remember tire tread matters too.

Indoors

If you are using the golf car indoors, an electric car is recommended.

We make the entire process easy. Stop by and we will help you design a golf car that will meet your needs and exceed your expectations.

Street Legal

Street legal cars may be used on some roadways.  Local laws vary, so make sure to check with your village, township, city, or homeowners association to see what the requirements are.  In Michigan, in order for a golf car to be considered street legal it must:

·      Go at least 25 mph (and not be taken on roads with a speed limit that exceeds 35 mph)

·      Have head and taillights

·      Have blinkers and a horn

·      Have rearview and side mirrors

·      Have roll protection

·      Have Auto Glass

·      Have a windshield wiper

·      Have three-point seat belts

·      Have a Vin #

·      Be registered and have a lighted license plate

·      DOT approved tires

At Pure North Golf Cars we carry the Tomberlin line to meet the need for street legal vehicles in Northern Michigan.  Give us a call and we can custom order yours today.
